PORTABLE DETECTOR FOR EXPLOSIVES AND DRUGS DVIN-1 has been presented during the special demonstration of body armor facilities and SEARCH-AND-CUSTOMS EQUIPMENT used by RF Ministry of the Interior. The demonstration was held in the territory of state institution "Scientific production association "Special equipment and connection"" of the RF Ministry of the Interior.
"Portable detector DVIN-1 aroused particular interest"… equipment does not have domestic equivalents and is much better than foreign equivalents. It ensures high accuracy of explosives and drugs detection.
Unlike the X-ray equipment, neutron detector can identify precisely not only the presence but also the composition of suspicious materials hidden, for example, in baggage. DVIN-1 works on the basis of so-called labeled neutrons method. Neutrons emitted by equipment react on the materials hidden inside of baggage. They generate gamma-rays, the spectrum of which helps to define materials composition. Detector can recognize up to 30 types of explosives and 10 types of drugs.
